The duration of this course is one day. This course is designed to give an understanding of the requirements of legislation relating to risk assessment. Additionally, the delegate will gain an insight into the methods used and be able to make a valid judgement of a completed risk assessment. In order to make this judgement the delegate will be taught to complete a risk assessment utilising different methods.

Assessment:

Assessment consisting of two parts -

  1. Written assessment at end of course - mix of multi-choice and short written answers
  2. Project

Each delegate to complete risk assessment associated with their work and submit for verification within two weeks of course end.

Delegates who successfully complete both parts of the assessment will receive a HASCAT Safety Ltd training certificate.

  • An outline of Health & Safety law
  • The law regarding risk assessment
  • Understanding risk assessment
  • Practical exercise "Conducting a risk assessment"
