This programme offers training and awareness-raising in the areas of Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Fairness at Work. The workshop is designed to help participants understand and apply equality and diversity legislation effectively. Participants will develop knowledge of the various strands of diversity, and the skills to demonstrate professional conduct at all times surrounding equality and diversity issues in the workplace.
Workshops comprise a combination of the following topics:
- The business and economic arguments for equality
- Roles and responsibilities in implementing and supporting diversity at work
- Understand the terms diversity, equal opportunities, values, beliefs stereotypes,
prejudice and discrimination - Basic knowledge of anti-discrimination law
- he symptoms and causes of harassment, bullying and victimisation
- When, where and how to deal with discriminatory behaviour
- Learning how to be fair
- The role of language in discriminatory behaviour
- Sources of further help and information
- Next steps and action planning for change

Location:
Individuals will be able to participate in group workshops at their own premises or at a
convenient location.
This programme will be delivered by Suzanne I'ons, Senior Consultant. Suzanne's qualifications and experience in Education, Guidance & Counselling, Management and Psychometric Assessment, mean that she is well equipped to deliver this workshop. Her experience includes: conducting research, managing projects; H.R./Equality & Diversity
training and consultancy, management and soft skills training, one to one coaching and delivery of professional qualifications through ILM and OCN.
Suzanne brings her experience of teaching and training in local upper schools, colleges and
universities as well as wide ranging training delivery to local and national organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
She has held middle and senior management positions in public and private sector organisations and has specialised over the years in Equal Opportunities and Diversity interventions. Projects have included a Dignity at Work scheme and related training for Local Authorities; Equality and Diversity Awareness Training for a range of organisations,
some very challenging and with positive outcomes; distance learning and coaching for elements of professional courses e.g. Management and Advice & Guidance qualifications at Levels 2, 3 &4
