The duration of this course is one day. The course is aimed at service team leaders, supervisors and managers wishing to enhance their management and supervisory skills.
Location:
Protech Training Centre (or Client Premises) - Minimum 6 delegates.
Course Aims:
At the end of the workshop participants will have:
- Considered their personal objectives and how what they take from the course can be
applied to their own specific environment - Considered what constitutes conflict in the workplace
- Clarified the negative influences of workplace conflict and how to recognise the ways in
which feelings of conflict and anger may manifest themselves in individuals - Identified the need to deal with conflict at its onset and some suggestions on practical methods to address the same in its early stages
- Explored the legal implications of unresolved conflict in the workplace
- Reviewed the extent to which effective leadership can assist as a conciliatory tool via an appropriate Grievance and Disciplinary process
Teaching & Learning Strategies:
The teaching and learning strategies employed in this programme by the training consultants are based on the philosophy of experimental learning - "learning through doing". Delegates are encouraged to participate as individuals and within groups.
A variety of methods are employed to deliver and enhance the learning experience. Trainer-led input is complemented by a variety of activities such as skills practice (role-play), practical exercises, discussions, presentations and case studies.
A strong emphasis is placed on the transfer of learning into the workplace. Delegates are encouraged and challenged to discover and identify ways they can each specifically apply the training experience to the workplace.
