Are you someone who has been made redundant recently and now unemployed? Perhaps you have just received a redundancy notice from your employer? Please contact us about fully funded short courses that will help you get back into employment. See the course information below.
To qualify you must have received a letter outlining the redundancy notice (either personally addressed to you or a general letter). You must be over 18 years old, must not be unemployed more than 6 months and live in East of England. To check for eligibility contact us.
Courses Protech will deliver under this funded programme include:
• Skills for Employment- writing an effective C.V., job search techniques and interview skills • Presentation Skills
• ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Team Leading Award- aims to give practising or potential team and cell leaders the foundation for their formal development in this role. The course consists of three one-day workshops supported by distance learning and tutorial.
• Risk Assessment (Health and Safety)- The legal requirement for risk assessment; 2) Definition of hazard and risk; 3) Basic risk calculation and examples in use within industry; 4) How to prioritise the risks; 5) Classroom based assessments. 6) Delegates to undertake “live” assessment on the premises

• Managing Conflict
• Assessor Development- On completion of this programme participants will understand the role of the assessor and know the importance of assessment planning, making correct assessment decisions and how to provide effective feedback. Participants will also understand the importance of standardisation together with how to ensure their own professional development

Skills for Employment |
A comprehensive short course to develop skills required for writing an effective C.V., job search techniques and interview skills. Embedded into the course will be skills for life support and confidence building. IT skills to support job search and application will also be developed as necessary. As part of this course, all participants will receive 1:1 career advice and guidance to look at new and alternative job ideas, as well as confidence building exercises.

Presentation Skills |
To provide those who are new to presenting to groups and those who wish to increase their ability and confidence, the necessary skills to prepare and deliver effective presentations. Delegates will also have the opportunity to explore how body language can be used to reinforce the verbal message of a presentation.

Assertiveness |
Understand the role assertiveness can play in developing relationships. Learn how to manage stress in themselves and others: Handle people and situations with more confidence and consistency: Identify more clearly what helps or hinders our personal effectiveness. Gain increased confidence in their ability to make decisions about how to handle difficult/complex situations. Develop skills and techniques to improve communication and relationships at work; Set SMART personal goals and action plans related to new skills acquired |

Windows, Word and Mail Fundamentals |
This course is designed to develop essential skills in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word and Outlook Email. By the end of this course, delegates will be able to work confidently with the mouse and keyboard, open and manipulate windows and create, save and manage files and folders. Delegates will also develop essential communication skills in a world dominated by technology by introducing delegates to electronic text editing and layout using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook to communicate electronically. |
Managing Conflict |
• Consider what constitutes conflict in the workplace • Clarify the negative influences of workplace conflict and how to recognise the ways in which feelings of conflict and anger may manifest themselves in individuals • Identify the need to deal with conflict at its onset and some suggestions on practical methods to address the same in its early stages • Explore the legal implications of unresolved conflict in the workplace • Review the extent to which effective leadership can assist as a conciliatory tool |
