The Equality Act 2010 and the impact for Schools

The Equality Act 2010 brought the previous discrimination legislation under one umbrella and provides specific requirements for schools and colleges. 

The new Act requires schools to publish equality information and objectives by 5 April 2012. Do you understand the Act, its implications, and what is required to enable you to publish your information and objectives?

This Update is designed for education professionals who need to understand the Act and its impact.  This may include those involved in producing and publishing information as well as key members of staff, parent governors or other associated committees.  The session will help Education professionals and others affected by the Equality Act to understand the legal provisions and responsibilities for schools, learning establishments and their employees.
